What do I get for the annual fee?

The annual fee goes to three different places. You pay once each year, and there are no other fees or taxes unless you decide to buy additional services (e.g. credit card processing) or have extensive rebuilding of your site after the 3 week evaluation period.

First, your domain name (yourname.com) has to be registered on the internet by a company called a registrar. This company charges an annual fee to keep your name reserved to you, and posted on the internet.

Second, your files have to be physically placed on a computer that is on the internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This service is called hosting, and it is built into your annual fee.

Thirdly, we provide basic maintenance on your website - we keep it posted on the search engines, make sure everything's working, and keep in touch with you and the hosting and domain companies to make sure nothing expires and your site is always up and running. If your site ever has any problems, we are on hand to fix it.

If you don't want to pay an annual fee to us, and would prefer to do your own hosting or shop around and find your own companies, feel free. You will find our rates are very reasonable for the services we provide, and we use only the best and most reliable servers and hosts. If you go with a 3rd party host, we cannot guarantee their service, obviously.
